During August 4-10, 2014, travelers and dwellers in Transylvania are going to rock ARTmania Festival Sibiu for its ninth edition. After completing their knowledge with the amazing cultural experiences offered by the festival’s partners, Brukenthal National Museum and ASTRA National Museum Complex, they will party each night in partner venues.

Over the weekend they can live the history of contemporary music alongside the artists that have changed and those still changing nowadays rock culture. From gods to nymphs, from instrumental experiments to the lord of heavy metal acts and the iconic representatives of gothic metal culture, this year’s Festival features a line-up worthy of a holiday in Sibiu.

Equilibrium joins the bill as the second folk metal band to play this year, replacing the Crematory slot for Saturday. A personal matter of the guitarist Matthias Hechler has determined the postponing of this concert at the ninth edition at ARTmania Sibiu. Crematory fans will meet their idols in 2015 at ARTmania’s 10th anniversary edition.

On the other stage, Zdob si Zdub will be playing on Friday, August 8, in the Large Square of Sibiu along with Verde from Cluj, while Alternosfera will be playing on Saturday on the same stage with Tagma from Sibiu as opening act.

Access in Vampires’ Den will start after 3pm and the party will go on until the moon-down on Friday and Saturday, August 8 & 9, 2014. For the first time on the main stage, two concerts will be taking place late during the night, after Rage and Therion, two runners up of the Metal Made in Romania competition, An Theos and The Hourglass, will be completing the final line-up of the festival’s ninth edition.

Concerts will start at 4pm and will end around 2am and during this time the public can enjoy cultural alternatives: exhibitions, video projections offered by Dracula Film Festival, Carturesti Pop – Up Store events, the Happy Color Games Caravan and exhibitions offered by Photo Romania and young artists in love with ARTmania as well as many other surprises that will be unveiled shortly.

A limited number of day tickets will be available for those who wish to experiment Vampires’ Den at a 100 lei per day. For the meet & greet sessions everyone can get the chance to see their idols. At the public relations centers Vampires’ Den bracelet holders can sign up on a list, completely free of charge, according to each band’s restrictions but limited to two bands only to each participant with a valid identity card.

During the festival week three public relations centers will be open to exchange tickets, invitations, accreditations in access bracelets useful also for visiting Museums during the week and for meet & greet sign-ups: Monday–Friday 10am–6pm – Info Tourist Center in the Large Square; Monday–Thursday and Sunday 6–10pm – Geea Café, 4 Avram Iancu Street; Friday–Saturday 2pm–12am – Vampires’ Den, 21-23, Calea Gusteritei.

ARTmania Vampires’ Den two days passes are available in Diverta, Germanos, MyTicket and Eventim networks, at the ARTmania office and online at shop.artmania.ro for 180 lei. Day tickets will be available in festival days. Tickets and passes for the events organized in the Brukenthal National Museum and History Museum are available separately. Large Square access is free of charge. ARTmania Festival is co-financed by the local Council of Sibiu through the Sibiu Town Hall.
