At the end of July, in Sibiu, the tenth ARTmania Festival will be taking place, as it has been every summer since 2006. The medieval fortress is getting rock and waiting for the die hard fans from Romania and abroad to join the festival’s anniversary.
Anathema, Saturnus and Enemy of Reality will be seen live in the Medieval Large Square of Sibiu on Friday, July 31, 2015. On Saturday, Nümph, the festival latest addition to the line-up, an extraordinary progressive rock newcomer, followed by the legends, Clan of Xymox & Apocalyptica, will bell shaking the grounds of Transylvania at its tenth year anniversary. Furthermore, the access is free this time at the concerts taking place in the Large Square.
Nümph was formed in late 2010, deriving from different musical projects, influences and backgrounds made in Italy. Marco, Luca G, Luca F and Giuseppe, immediately felt the need to begin and deepen a path of musical experimentation and research, aiming to create a unique sound. Four Zoas was their first EP, produced and released in June 2011. Theories of Light is the first full length album, recorded at The Basement studio, mixed by Matt Bayles (Mastodon, Isis, The Sword), mastered by Ed Brooks from RFI Studios (Rem, Isis, Pearl Jam), launched in 2014 and available on Bandcamp.
Alongside the most beautiful free access rock concerts organised in the Large Square, during the festival week various concerts in different locations, movie screenings organised with Brukenthal National Museum and Dracula Film Festival and a Global Battle of the Bands contest promoting the local-national acts will be taking place.
An Theos will prepare the festival ground on Saturday, July 25, with a live concert, on Tuesday For My Sins will be playing in Oldies Club, Consequence on Wednesday night in Hard Rock Sibiu and on Thursday the GBOB ARTmania Semifinal will take place, with 18 performances in a marathon Sibiu has not seen before. The Angels Kill the Pirates, The EMP, Eternal Fire, Fading Circles, For the Wicked, Hteththemeth, Hybrid Symphony, Nuvijan, Onenightstand, Rapture, Ringtone, WestfalliaandWildchild will all be included in the GBOB program. In the Large Square, for the anniversary, the most appreciated brand partners will be present: Tuborg, Jäggermeister, Cărturești, Get Music, Beauty of Pain, MiniRock, Niche Records, Leather&Laces, Eticheta Hand Made, Estat Shop, Jack Link’s and, of course The official ARTmania merchandise stand. The ARTmania Festival week presents concerts, alternative events, museums, exhibitions, book readings, workshops and themed parties. The festival continues to promote events derived from rock culture in the week July 27 – August 2 reunited under the slogan “10 Years of ARTmania Festival” powered by Tuborg. Event co financed by the Local Council of Sibiu and Sibiu City Hall.
