The 2013 edition of the ARTmania Festival Sibiu will take place in between 5th and 11th of August, having a dynamic program, full of innovative and unconventional activities. A well-known supporter of the alternative culture, the ARTmania platform launches this year a conceptual space meant to refresh the life of the medieval citadel, to support the cultural dialogue and promote the national values in an international context: ARTmania Smart Zone.

Painting, photography, graphics, and the art of writing will merge with the idea of performance and installation, movie and music, bringing a large variety of cultural events closer to the audience of the 8th edition of the festival and the local community. All these alternative activities will take place under the label of ARTmania Smart Zone, in the Small Square of Sibiu and the partner locations situated nearby.

Beside the concerts of 15 representative bands for the international and Romanian musical scene, ARTmania provokes an outstanding marathon of events, that will take place in Sibiu, in the locations dedicated to the festival: the Large Square, the Small Square, Brukenthal National Museum, ASTRA National Museum Complex and Habitus Gallery.

During the festival, the Small Square will be animated by photo and painting exhibitions, workshops, movie and documentary screenings, book launches, literary debates and a lot of other events organized with the support of Transilvania Film, Parada Film, the Cultural Austrian Forum, the Polish Institute, the Czech Centre, the Cervantes Institute, the Cultural House of Sibiu, the Vellant and Curtea Veche bookshops and other representative cultural brands in Romania.
